A Study of the Empowerment of Indian tribal women

Abstract

The empowerment of the tribal women has been a major concern. Strengthening of tribal women for the accelerated socio-economic development of every community, active participation of women is necessary. In a social organization such as India, their participation must be ensured through tangible action at various levels that result in their strengthening in the true sense. Strengthening the position of women is one of the concepts that have evolved in relation to improving their status. Empowerment includes a higher level of literacy, education, better healthcare, equal ownership of productive resources, increased participation in economic and commercial sectors, awareness of rights and obligations, better living standards, independence, self-esteem and self-confidence.
