Abstract

This study was undertaken to investigate the toxic effect of sub-lethal concentrations of Paraquat on some of the haemotological parameters in Indian cat-fish, Heteropenustes fossilis during different time periods i.e., 24 hrs., 48 hrs., 72 hrs., and 96 hrs at different concentrations i.e., 0.5 ppm, 1.0 ppm, 1.5 ppm and 2.0 ppm. Paraquat caused a significant decrease in the total count of RBC, haemoglobin content and percentage PCV.
